We supply the bike with a fully charged battery and the distance you can ride on that charge is dependent on many factors including the level of assistance you choose, the gradient of the trail, the amount you input yourself, your weight, your kit & clothing weight, tyre pressure, the trail surface you are riding oN, pedal cadence, the list goes on.

HOW FAR CAN I RIDE?

In the UK, e-bikes (known legally as motor assisted pedal cycles or Pedelecs) are restricted to 250 watts motor power or 15.5 mph.  You can still travel faster but at greater speeds the motor will stop providing assistance.

The bikes do not have a throttle, instead they provide assistance to enhance any pedalling you do.

The amount of assistance can be varied by a simple push button control on the handlebar which allows the rider to cycle through the available power assistance modes.

DO I NEED TO PEDAL?

Some of our bikes feature a walk assist, this is a feature designed to help move the bike up a steep incline when you are dismounted. With walk-assist engaged the bike will propel itself forward without any pedalling at a slow walking pace allowing the bike to be more easily walked up steep slopes.

WHAT IS WALK ASSIST?

Yes. All our e-bikes have gears like any normal mountain bike and these are used together with the power assistance level control to manage the pedal input required to achieve the desired propulsion.  The assistance level is controlled by a simple “+/-” button on the bars that will cycle through the available modes/levels of assistance.

DO THE BIKES HAVE GEARS?

We give you a full charge, HOWEVER, the time & distance a charge will last is dependent on many factors (see ‘How far can I ride?’ above).

Once the charge is exhausted the bike will continue to function as a regular mountain bike would, although without providing any pedal assistance, so it is possible to get home, although it is likely that riding will feel a lot more challenging.

WHAT IF I RUN OUT OF CHARGE?

TheRe is additional weight from the motor and battery units and the bikes also need to be strengthened to cope with the additional loads so they are heavier than a non assisted BIKE. despite that, because of the assistance once you are riding you don’t notice the weight. the BIKES are well balanced so they handle much the same as a standard BIKE. It can take a little time to adjust but most people acclimatise quickly.

ARE THE BIKES HEAVY?

You need to be 18+ to rent our bikes and 14+ to ride them. SO A CHILD AGED 14+ CAN USE ONE OF OUR E-BIKES PROVIDED an adult is responsible for the hire.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

Yes. Our staff will run through the essentials of using the assisted bike. They will go through the power modes, visual display and walk assist (if applicable) and tell you what you can expect from your ride.

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?

Cancellations will be subject to the following charges.

  • Up to 1 week prior to the hire date – No charge
     

  • Up to 3 days prior to the hire date – 50% of total booking
     

  • 1 day prior to the hire date – 75% of total booking
     

  • Day of hire will be charged at full hire rate of the booking

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

It is a condition of our liability insurance that all riders must wear helmets. We provide helmets free of charge, but IF you PREFER to bring your own, PLEASE DO SO.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A HELMET?

your rental includes personal liability insurance which covers you in the event you are held responsible for bodily injury or property damage to a third party.

 

you are not covered for personal injury to yourself. it is your responsibility to ensure to have personal accident insurance.

DO I NEED INSURANCE?

Whilst in your care, the eBike and equipment are your responsibility, and you MAY be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft (IF LEFT UNATTENDED AND NOT SECURED WITH THE LOCK WE PROVIDE) to the bike or equipment up to the retail value of the eBikes. The bikes are in excellent condition, and we really want them to stay that way. If you are riding on the road and riding sensibly the chances of damage are low. Of course, we won't hold you responsible for any normal wear and tear.

THEFTS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE POLICE AND YOU MUST assist US in obtaining a CRIME REFERENCE NUMBER.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY E-BIKE IS DAMAGED OR STOLEN?

To protect our e-Bikes, we need to positively identify all renters with either a passport or driving licence which you must present when YOUR E-BIKES ARE DELIVERED. Please remember to have your passport or driving licence to hand when WE DROP-OFF your eBike.

we also require proof of address dated within the last 3 months.

WHAT PAPERWORK DO I NEED?

We understand the last thing you want is to be held responsible for a stolen e-BikE. there are some easy steps to HELP LIMIT THAT RISK.

1. Stay with the E-bikes whenever possible.
2. If you do need to leave them, then lock them up securely.

We provide YOU with A lock.

EACH E-BIKE IS FITTED WITH A GPS TRACKING DEVICE.
